SPECIAL DESIGN
Due to its unique wire processing, the KD file naturally exhibits a 'pre-curved' status. This reduced shape memory feature makes KD files better conform to the natural canal anatomy. There is no need for the operator to straighten the file before use. Once inside the canal, the KD file will follow the anatomy and adapt to natural curvatures.
Additionally, the unique wire processing enhances the file's resistance to cyclic fatigue and increases flexibility, enabling smoother and safer canal preparation.
PREPAREING PROCESS RECOMMANDATION
ONE - CREATE STRAIGHT-LINE ACCESS:
Determine the working length and establish a glide path for the KD File rotary instruments to follow:
1. Use stainless steel NIC K-Files, in conjunction with root canal conditioner, to navigate all root canals to their endpoints.
2. Ensure patency by extending a #10 K-File beyond the canal terminus and at least a #15 K-File to the terminus.
TWO - SHAPE CANAL—CROWN DOWN
Implement the Crown Down technique for canal cleaning and shaping:
1. For small canals, begin with a 30/.04 rotary file. Advance the 30/.04 file until resistance is met or the working length is reached, whichever comes first. If resistance is encountered before reaching the working length, switch to the next smaller instrument, following the same method until the working length is achieved. Between each rotary file, use a #10 or #15 hand file to recapitulate, maintaining the glide path and assisting with irrigation (NaOCl) to the canal terminus.
2. For larger canals, start with a 40/.04 rotary file. Employ the crown down approach until resistance is felt or the working length is obtained. If resistance occurs before achieving the working length, proceed with smaller instruments until the working length is achieved. In between instruments, recapitulate with a small hand file to preserve the glide path to the working length.
THREE - OBTURATION
Begin the obturation process with high-quality materials; NIC gutta-percha and NIC ALPHA Obturation System is recommended.
